7 Rules to make decluttering easy and turn it into fun
Here are some tips to help you get started:
Start small and focus on one area at a time, such as a drawer, a shelf, or a closet. Don’t try to tackle everything at once, as that can be overwhelming and discouraging.
Use the four-box method to sort your items into four categories: keep, donate, sell, or trash. Be honest and ruthless with yourself, and only keep the items that you love, use, or need.
Set a timer and work for a fixed amount of time, such as 15 minutes, 30 minutes, or an hour. This will help you stay focused and motivated and prevent you from getting distracted or bored.
While on your mission, keep it fun: play your favorite music, listen to a podcast or an audiobook you wanted to read but couldn't find time,
You can invite someone to help you. Not only will it be more fun, but they can help you make your mind faster about which item goes into which category, and not to change your mind after you've already decided.
If you can not have anyone at your place, you can also do it with someone online.
Reward yourself for your progress and celebrate your achievements. Treat yourself to something that you enjoy, such as a cup of coffee, a movie, or a massage. You have deserved them, and you must have them.
Do you ever feel stressed, overwhelmed, or frustrated by the clutter in your home or workspace? If so, you are not alone. It has become one of the main topics in modern society, and it is the outcome of absurdly excessive shopping for the stuff we don't even want or need.

It makes you feel anxious and distracted, as it creates a sense of chaos and disorder in your environment. It can also trigger your fight-or-flight response, which increases your cortisol levels and lowers your immune system.
Clutter can make you feel guilty and ashamed, as it reflects your inability to manage your belongings and responsibilities. It can also make you feel judged by others, who might perceive you as lazy, messy, or irresponsible.
Clutter can make you feel low and depressed, as it reduces your self-esteem and self-worth. It can also make you feel stuck, hopeless, and unmotivated to change your situation.
